Just got an email informing me that Viasat is ending their relationship with DSI. I guess business has gotten so slow that it didn't make sense anymore to have 2 distributors. I hate that for DSI. Jeff Myrland is the reason I got on with Viasat in the first place.

I certainly wish everything was going in the opposite direction. Just in the last few days it's taken 3 seperate orders to get a 4 pack of DirecTv dishes, 2 Genies, 5 clients and assorted odds and ends delivered, even though they were all showing in the same shopping cart and shipped. First problem I noticed when I looked to see if the order was delivered, it hadn't shipped, even though it should have arrived the previous day. I called and who I spoke to said they noticed the order not going anywhere a couple of days before I called. He said he "wondered" why that was happening. Did he do anything about it? Nope. Go back later, some of the items were still there in the cart, even though they'd now showed twice having shipped. Placed another order for the clients which were still in the cart. We'll see tomorrow if they arrive. Would they suck it up and cover the overnight shipping for their error? HA. They were so gracious as to call and let me know the original order had finally shipped 3 or 4 days later than it should, when the tracking already listed it out for delivery.

I had planned to never deal with P10 again after getting HN through them during the Obama money days, then DirecTv forced me back, now ViaSat. I never thought DSI was much good, but P10 ramps it up to so many more levels of ineptitude.

You think thats bad?

I was doing installs for Orby as a contractor. We have not been able to get equipment for over a month!

We ordered like 20 boxes of equipment and Fedex just shows up every 2-3 days delivering another box or two.

Can't do any installs because we are missing a few key boxes of equipment.

The stuff has been sitting in the Fedex facility since May 4th.

You think Orby would overnight the equipment Via UPS? NOPE!

They took most of our jobs and assigned it to another contractor. The only thing for us to do was service calls on jobs we already did for stupid things that could have been figured out over the phone.

Screw that! Told Orby no more installs Friday night

Perfect 10 or now called Perfect vision is the most difficult company to deal with, they let go all the seasoned reps. No one cares one bit about the dealer. They forced us to allow them to do SD to HD upgrades on our behalf last year. Was told if I did not co operate they would take my accounts. After putting up resistance we let them do a small number of the installs. Their Sub Contractors should up drunk on the job causing my customers to call and ask who are you sending here. I then asked for a certificate of insurance naming us as additional insured along with workerscomp and commercial auto insurance. They soon emailed and said we can't do any of your work. They left receivers behind everywhere and did not install them. Perfect ten then proceeded to charge me back thousands for the missing equipment. They charged me for work the did not do. I have charges for missing parts. This has gone on now for almost a Year. They will not co operate , they will not send documentation showing what they got paid from DIRECTV. They claim we got paid and simply owe the monies. I emailed Terry Fleming, he did not answer. They put our account on hold not sending me anything. I made payments to get equipment released, they keep claiming we owe the money and that's it. Now I have made a complaint to Directv and have asked that I get a new distributer . I will have to pay them to get cleared so that we can go to DSI. I will then file a legal action here against them. I think even that we will win we will not be able to collect. 20 plus years and millions of dollars of business with them and to be treated like garbage. Plain English they don't care. This along with seeing our residuals reduced and constant pressure from DIRECTV to do more, corona virus and being shut down now for months is a little to much to take. The whole thing has turned to Sh t.

During my 3 long years on the Viasat dealer council, I got to meet a lot of the higher ups at P10....they were at every meeting. I was NOT impressed. At one of the meetings in Denver I brought up all the issues we were having with refurb equipment.....I even took a printout of a pic one of YOU posted here where the modems you received STILL HAD the sticky notes on them from the dealer who had RAd them....that was CLASSIC, the rest of the dealers there all busted out laughing. Anyway, I mentioned that one of the things not being done was the modems weren't being cleared properly. Some bald dude from P10 was the one in charge of taking care of refurbing equipment. He was getting more and more pissed at me the longer I added to the list of poor performance on his end and when I mentioned the modems not being cleared (Brad Behmer spoke up and told me how to clear them), this bald dude said "well THERE, you now have the solution so it shouldn't be a problem anymore!!". Steve McElroy was sitting right next to him and leaned over and said loudly "so NOW the dealers are expected to do the job we pay YOU to do???".

I'll never forget the look on that guy's face....he was utterly caught. The head of P10 was there at the meeting and I thought to myself "goodbye baldy" thinking surely he would be fired for sucking so bad at his job. Oh heck no, he was there at the next meeting and the next and the next.

The DSI folks were very approachable and easy to talk to. The P10 folks ALL talked DOWN to you...very snobby, none of us dealers liked them.

And where do we send returned defective equipment? I really don't need DSI credit, now we can't get either of the 2 products we sold of theirs, ViaSat & DirecTv.

Email was rejected. I was often amazed that if we had credits on our account that we had to ask for them to be applied to any orders. I asked once why on earth would you not automatically apply them. The response was crazy. "some folks like to save them up"..... I replied NOT ME, why would I loan you money. I wonder how much money was on their books in credits owed that folks never got. Does anyone know what happened???

So glad we are out of the DirecTV and Viasat business. We always seemed to owe P-10 for something and they always had a hard time explaining their own accounting system. Working the Gotw3 through Collins has been much less stressful and Dish through Echosphere is fine.
